AUTHOR’S BIO
Zuzana Říhová is a Czech novelist and literary scholar. Her novel Playing Wolf was shortlisted for the top Czech fiction prize in 2022 and has been translated into several languages.
She is also an Associate Professor of Czech and Comparative Literature and Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities at Anglo-American University in Prague. She has led Czech studies at Oxford and been a visiting professor at Columbia University. Her books explore the Czech avant-garde and modernism, a bold and inventive literary world that flourished in Czechoslovakia between the wars. Her latest book, Archaeology of Modernism, looks at how Czech and Anglo-American writers echoed one another in the 1940s. It will be published by Karolinum later this year.
